Only the highest quality fishing equipment is used in Rotorua Trout Guide Limited’s operation. Top end Sage and Scott rods make up my rod arsenal. We use Waterworks-Lamson and Hatch reels combined with top end Airflow and Rio fly lines chosen for quality and purpose.  Simms make up my range of waders and wading boots. Waders are used on most trips however in the peak of the summer wet wading is preferred. Rods range from 5wt to 10wt depending on conditions, techniques and location.

You are most welcome to bring your own gear. Please contact me prior to your trip so I can make suitable recommendations regarding equipment. To prevent the spread of freshwater pests such as Didymo, always Check, Clean, Dry all footwear, bicycles, vehicles, fishing equipment and other items before entering and when moving between or waterways in New Zealand. We are fortunate not to have Didymo in the North Island as of yet,  confined only in the South Island and we want to keep it this way. Additional equipment for overnight adventures and wet weather gear will be provided when necessary including sleeping bags, backpacks, rain jackets and tents. Please wear clothing of subdued colour that matches the weather and season for guided trips. If in doubt about what to pack for your guided trip please make contact prior to arrival.

Refreshments and lunch will be provided on full day trips or longer. Please make me aware if you have any dietary requirements or allergies prior to your planned trip. I look forward to showcasing our fantastic fisheries we have on offer.
