With extensive local knowledge of the region’s rivers, backcountry fisheries and lakes, he is committed to providing every guest with a memorable day on the water.

A member of the New Zealand Professional Fishing Guides Association (NZPFGA) and a Maritime New Zealand commercial skipper, Julian also spends part of each season guiding at Poronui, one of New Zealand’s most highly regarded luxury fly fishing lodges.

Planned a remote fly fishing trip with Julian Danby of Rotorua Trout Guide in January 2024. Julian did everything to make the trip exceptional.
