The Rotorua back country and wilderness fisheries open on the 1st October and close on the 1st July although we still have good fishing options throughout the rest of the year.
If your intending to bring your own fishing gear please make this known as I will advise on suitable equipment for our fisheries. Please note felt soled wading boots are not allowed to be used in New Zealand. To prevent the spread of freshwater pests such as Didymo, always Check, Clean, Dry all footwear and fishing equipment before entering or when moving between waterways in New Zealand. We are fortunate not to have Didymo in the North Island as of yet, confined only in the South Island and we want to keep it this way.
Additional equipment for overnight adventures and wet weather gear will be provided when necessary including sleeping bags, backpacks, rain jackets and tents. Please wear clothing of subdued colour that matches the weather and season for guided trips. If in doubt about what to pack for your guided trip please make contact prior to arrival.
